Class Evaluation

What I like about this class was the w3schools. I like learning html and also exploring the websites it self. It had a lot of features and it taught me alot of things.
Some things i didnt like about the class was it was the same routine every class. But other than that it cool class to have.
The highlight for me in class was learning html because it something diffrent than my other classes. Other highlight was the flashcard machine which helped me in my sports therapy class. The flashcard machine help me keep organized in school and also getting good score in test and quizzes.
I really tried to do my best in this class. I did all the work and reading my life planning every day. Aswell as writing in all chapter from w3schools.
I am reading and writing in my life Plannnig journal because it helped me get my school work done.
I am commited to be a CTR person because if i choose the wrong then bad stuff come to me and it doesnt make you feel good.

The 10 Keys to Personal Power

Brian Tracy
Key 1: Clarity
"Have vision. Determine what you want to be, do or have in life.  Have a sense of direction and know where you’re going.  If you do not have clear specific goals in life, you are doomed forever to work for others who do."

Clarity doesnt always means you know exactly what you are doing. It means you know exactly who youre being and why. Clarity is power. The more clear you are about exactly what it is you want, the more your brain knows how to get there. Clarity can also mean to feel clear, sure, and stable. If you lack clarity that creates chaos and frustration. Those emotions are poison in our lives. In order to have clarity you have to take action.

Key 2: Competence
"If you commit to excellence, opportunities will always come your way. The harder you work, the better you get."

Competence means to have the ability or skill to do something successfully.  It also describes the ability to apply prior experience to new situations with good effect. Our competence improves over time as we learn more everday. Our competency helps us and others feel comfortable and safe. It inspire them to seek knowledge and skill. You need both a good behavior and being able to work functionally in order to be competency. When your confinence goes up, your competenecy aswell goes up.

Key 3: Concentration
"Make the best use of your time. Ask yourself “Is this the best use of my time?” before you start anything."

Concentration is the action of power of focusing one's attention or mental effort. It the ability to direct ones thinking in whatever direction. It when one is in state of concentration they only have specific attention to an object. You either concentrate on two things. When you concentrate on problems, youll have more problems. When you concentrate on good things when good things will return to you.

Key 4: Common Sense

  • Train your mind
  • think things through
  • listen to your intuition
  • learn from setbacks

Common sense is a good sense and sound judgement in practcial matters. Common sense is something a person picks up over time and experience. Alot of people say that we have huge amount of common sense stored inside because we havent used none of  it. Common sense is seeing things as they are; and doing things as they ought to be.  Common sense is one the most important because it helps us succeed. It helps people become more effective over time.

 Key 5: Creativity
"Except the fact that every human being is a genius.  The hallmark of creativity is asking questions.  The people who are most creative ask the most questions."

Creativity means using your imagination or original work to into reality. It is the ability to percieve the world in new ways and generate positive soultions. Some people are fortunate that their imagination was nurtured and grown into strong creative thinking abilities. Creativity involved two process which is thinking and producing. It requires passion and commitment. You will have to get out of your comfort zone aswell as think outside the box in order to get creative. These abilities to think outside the box will lead the future and will make great things happen in the future.

Key 6: Consideration
"The quality of your relationships with other people will determine your success in life."
"Develop the people skills you need to become a better communicator.  Take courses in listening, speaking, etc."

"If you were to learn one new word a day, within 5 years, you’ll be the best educated person in history."

Consideration means to be thoughtfulness and sensitivity towards others. You respect others and their feelings. You consider the need of others as important as your own. As well as stopping to think how your action will affect others. Put yourself in other people shoes. Think of  little things to make people happy. Take in consideration of the big or little things you have in life. For example, going to school, having a roof over your head, and having a meal everyday.

Key 7: Consistency
"Dependable, steady predictable work is always superior to fast spurts of work."

"Be consistent in your relationships, your family, friends, your boss, your work.  Be the person that people can depend upon.  That if you say you’ll do something you do it.."

Consistency mean sthe achievement of a level of performance that does not vary greatly in quality over time.Consistency is key. Having consistency is very importnant, nothing can be achieved with it. If you are lacking in consistency you can bring a lack of interest. Sucess isnt alway about greatness. Its about consistency. Consistent hard work gains success. Greatness will come for those who are consistent.

Key 8: Commitment
"No success is possible without commitment.  The ability to commit yourself whole heartily is the basis of achieving all success."
"Become totally absorbed in your work.  Be totally committed."

Key 9: Courage

"The fear of failure is the single greatest reason for failure in life."

Key 10: Confidence

"You only get confidence by doing things over and over again ."

Confidence is the feeling or belief that one can rely on someone or something. Confidence is basic key of leadership. When you are confindent you tend to do better, make good descisions, and inspire others. Lack of confidence produces opposite outcomes: uncertainty about facts and data, short-term decision making and poor support for people taking on new ways of working.  Confidence enables focus, builds momentum and inspires people to give their best. Your ability to lead people and get out of your comfort zone due to your confidence will lead you places.

REFLECTION

I start applying concentration more in my life because i used to get distracted easily. I also applyed confidence more in my life and it help me get over the fear of presenting in front of class. i will incorpate the other keys in my life planning by i consistancy reading and writing everyday.

Freelance #3

This past weekend was great. My dad and I went to a comic book store called Geoffrey's Comic Book in Gardena. At first we both underestimated it because it is a small comic book store and my dad and i didn't think it would have a lot of comic book. But when we went inside, There was a variety of things like action figures, comic books old and new, and graphic novels. It was pretty cool and exiting to be there. My dad found in the 50 cent section a comic book that is worth over 100 dollars which was pretty cool.

The 7 Habits Of Highly Effective People

Stephen R. Covey

Habit 1: Be Proactive

"Habit 1 is the key to unlocking all the other habits and that's why it comes first. It says, "I am the captain of my life. I can choose my attitude. I'm responsible for my own happiness or unhappiness. I am in the driver's seat of my destiny, not just a passenger."

Being proactive means thinking and acting ahead of time. Not only is this a good method to avoid doing more work in the future. Also to prevent future disasters. In order to be proactive, you need to plan out everything. For example things you have to do or places you need to attend. As well as potential problems you may faced in the future. You can eliminate your nonessary plans and put more important plans. Like studying for a test or getting your homework done instead of going out with friend or a party. If You are proactive, you make things happen, instead of waiting for them to happen to you.

Habit 2: Begin with the End in Mind
"Control your own destiny or someone else will." (Jack Welch)
"When you know where you intend to end up, you know where you are now." (Covey)

Begin with the end in mind means to knowing that you will finish that goal. Also means to begin each day or tasks with a clear destination. It about learning what values are important in your life and living accordingly. It starts off with an idea then you act or create  that goal. For example, you think and create in idea about building a house. Then in reality you build your goal which was a house.

Habit 3: Put First Things First
"Organize and execute around priorities."

Everyday with do tasks we do or do not enjoy doing. Sometimes some of these tasks are so important that we have to prioritize these boring tasks and leave the fun tasks for later. When we dont prioritize and complete the important tasks, we wont have time to do the fun things we would like to do. You get a lot done. You are fairly labor-saving. We spend our time in certain ways because we choose to. There is nothing we do without choosing, although our choices are not always smart. We have the choice to work or not to work, to write that report or not.

Habit 5: Seek First to Understand, then to be Understood
"Diagnose before you prescribe."

We should take time to deeply understand the problem that we face everyday. It shows us how we can work collaborately in order to solve situation. Be willing to be open minded. First you have to listen, then you have to learn, from there you get to understand it. In communtion, listen actively before you talk. It all about understanding the other person – what they want, need and aspire to as well as what their motivations and mindset are. Empathic listening gives the other person an emotional boost they start feeling better about themselves so feel better about you and begin to open up more; you’ve opened them up so you can problem solve

Habit 6:Synergize
"The whole is greater than the sum of its parts (1+1=3)"

Habit 7: Sharpen the saw
The Four Dimensions of Self-Renewal: Physical, Mental, Spiritual, Social/Emotional

It means to take care of yourself emotinal, physically, and spiritualy. It also means know how to balance all of those things into your life. Aswell as consistly improving the use of the other habits. For example you need to take care of your body by exercising, getting, eating healthy, etc. You need to take care of your brain by learning. Taking care of your heart by creating friendships and enjoy life. Finally taking care of your soul by mediating and praying.

How to Remember Names

1. Commit

Begin by making a commitment — a conscious decision — to remember people’s names.

Don’t let yourself off easy, blaming a “bad memory.” Forgetting names is due less to a bad memory than to a lack of application. Tell yourself — because it’s true — that you can remember names if you want to and if you work at it.

Before going to a meeting or a party or anywhere you might meet people, remind yourself of your commitment. And recommit yourself: “I will make my best effort to remember the names of the people I meet.”

2. Concentrate

You can only remember what you observe in the first place. If you are distracted or if you aren’t paying attention, you won’t register the person’s name so you can’t possibly remember it. Concentrate, then, on 1) paying attention to the person’s name when you first hear it, and 2) forming an impression of the person.

Listen to the person’s name. If you miss it or find a few seconds later that you’ve already forgotten it, say “I’m sorry I missed your name. Can you give it to me again?” If you still have trouble with it, say, “I’m sorry, but would you spell that out for me?”
Get a clear, detailed impression of the person.
The more vividly you observe people’s physical characteristics, the more likely you are to remember them. Use all of your senses to form the most striking impression possible.
3. Repeat

Repetition helps engrave the name in your memory.

Use the name immediately.
Repeat it silently to yourself.
Comment on the name, if possible.
Use it occasionally in the conversation without overdoing it.
Use it when leaving.
Write it down afterwards.
4. Associate

Try to make an association between the person’s face and an image the name suggests. If you exaggerate the image — make it larger, say — and give it movement — have it slam into some feature of the person’s face, for example — you will make the image even more memorable.

Even if you can’t create an image for the name, don’t despair. Just by working on it, just by trying to figure out an image that goes along with the name, you have reinforced your memory.

If you remember visual images most easily, try creating an image based on the name and linking it to some physical characteristic of the person.

Imagine a ham that weighs a ton spinning on the end of Mrs. Hamilton’s nose.
Picture an old-fashioned car jack under Jack’s prominent jaw.
See margarine melting through Margaret’s curly, blond hair.
If you are more attuned to sounds, make a rhyme, associating the name with your impression of the person. Or link the person’s name to a song lyric.

Dave needs a shave.
Latrice is Patty’s niece.
Michelle, ma belle. (The Beatle’s tune)
If you are more comfortable dealing with sensory feelings and gut instincts, try linking the name to the impression the person makes or to a reaction you have to the person.

Martin Peck is a pain in the neck.
Suzanne Patterson has sweaty palms.
Paula is pushy.
All this takes time and energy and that’s the point. It makes people feel important. It wins you their good will. And it opens the door to successful relationships.

Six Ways to Make People Like You

Dale Carnegie

1 . Become genuinely interested in other people

I think this means that you are willing to talk to other people with other interest. Basically being a open minded person. Also not being afraid to talk to other people. Be out there and be talkative to people. I think it can also mean to be a good friend and support their interest. It saying to have a decent conversation with that person. Get to know the person little bit more. Learn good things and knowledge from that person. It builds a great connection between you and that person. It opens more opportunities for you

2. Smile

I think this means that smile is a good thing to do. Whether you're smiling are a stranger or someone you know. Smile is the universal language of kindness. It shows that you are a friendly and approachable people. A smile can make anyone's' day. A smile can make you life easier because you are always happy and less negative. It makes you looks like a fun person to be around with. A smile can bring positively to other people and up lifts them. it makes you feel good about yourself. It will
make you smile.

3. Remember names

It means it good to remember the names of people youve met. It also repectful to rememeber thier names. It shows that you were listening to them. It makes them know that you were interested in them. Remembering names is the starting ponit of making new friends. For example, when you started in a new school or grade you dont know anyone. So the first thing you ask someone what this thier name. From there you can have a conversation and possibly have a new friend. It also important to remember a name for when you need help or an emergancy.

4. Be a good listener. Encourage others to talk about themselves

Listening is an attitude of the heart, a genuine desire to be with another. Be a good listener who people who having problem and give them advice. Also make people feel comfortable when you are listening to them. Then they will eventually open up to you. When you are listening to that person make sure youre not juding them or interupting them. Also make sure that you are genuinly listening to them not just nodding your head. Cause the greatest gift you can give another is the purity of your attention. It can make someone day.

5. Talk in terms of the other man's interest

After you been paying attention to the others been saying. You might get lucky and theyll talk about thier interest. Its cool when the other person has the same interest as you. It pretty easy to form a relationship and conversation like that. For example, Im passionate about arts, tv shows, and music. If i find someone who likes the same thing. Then you can easily talk to them for hours. But if you find a person who not interest in the same things you like. Then show them that you are genuinly listening to them and ask them question about it.

6. Make the other person feel important--and do it sincerely

I think in order to make a person feel important i think you have to make eye contact. Look directly at at them, dont look around because that makes the person feel like youre not listening. Another thing that is important is body language. Dont slouch down or lying around, be in a relaxed position. Also shaking your head vigorously and when its uncessary. Smile is a good one because it uplifting the mood. Finally actually listen to what the person try to say to you. There a difference between hearing the person and listening the person talking.

Reflection: I will commit to apply these ways to my life by making other feel important and making them feel comfortable as well. Also when im talking with someone i barely meet ill make sure to let talk about their interests. Aswell as remembering thier names and genunily listening to them.

    Creative Expressions

Over the weekend, My dad, brother, little cousins, and I went to store where they sell sporting goods. The reason we were there is because my dad was going to buy me a baseball glove, so that i could practice since try-outs are coming up. So my dad didn't want to go a store near my house, so we went to a store near LAX. When we got inside, my dad and i went to the baseball section while my cousins and brother went to the football section. We finally found the glove that I wanted and went to the check out station. Everything was going great until my dad was buying for the glove. The family waiting behind us was making fun of my dad because of his skin color. It made me really angry because he is equal to them and nobody should be made fun of because of their skin color. Then after that we went to Petco to buy my cats treats and it was adoption day at Petco. After petco, My dad and i drop off my cousins and brother at the house. My dad and i went to go practice at the batting cages in South Gate and practice. It was a bit hard to hit the ball because i haven't practice in a while. When i kept missing, i lose a bit of confidence because i know i could of done better. my goal for next weekend is to practice more and get better at batting.

    Peak Performance Principles

The Six Attitudes of High Achievers

    John R. Noe

    1. Make no small plans

I think it means to be an over achiever. It means to make big goals and to dream big. To aim high and work hard to achieve that goal. Make plans you know you can accomplish. If you make small foolish plans then you don't really achieve anything. If you make small plans you achieve little, if you make big plans than you'll be successful. Make goals or plans that are unbelievable to others. I think its good to have unbelievable dreams because people will think you cant achieve them. When you do achieve them then you cant prove them wrong. The more bigger goals you accomplish, the more you know you are capable of accomplishing.

''Set your goals high, and don't stop till you get there.''
     Bo Jackson
    2. Do what they fear

I think this means that to do the things you want to do. To do things that are uncommon and what other people find odd. It means to not let people control your life or follow other people, but be yourself. If you do things that you don't enjoy doing then you'll be unhappy. Don't be afraid. Change is a beautiful thing. It can also mean to overcome a fear. For example, doing a presentation in class, getting rid of that fear help you become a better person. Your fears in life are only as fearful as you constantly interpret them to be.

"I say I am stronger than fear."
    Malala Yousafzai

    3. Are willing to prepare

This means that people that are ready for something and already knows whats ahead of them. If you preparing to fail, you are going to fail. If you are prepare to succeed, you are going to be successful. Success depends upon previous preparation  For example, athletes does not become winner when they win at the event, but the preparation they dedicated in practicing for it. The successful performance that they prepare themselves for, it is a demonstration of their champion character. Also sometimes life gives us things that we are not expecting to happen, but you have prepare ourselves for it.

Education is the passport to the future, for tomorrow belongs to those who prepare for it today. Malcolm X

    4. Are willing to risk failure.
I think it means that you willing to risk failures and learn from them. Failure is the root of success because you learn from those mistakes you made and make a better person out of yourself. Also life is full of failures. Youre are supposed to fail sometimes. It part of life and everyone goes through it. The more you fail the more you learn and the more you learn you get smarter. Failure is disappointing, but it better than not trying. If you dont try than you'll never have a satisfied result. Giving up is only way to fail.

“Have no fear of perfection - you'll never reach it.”

    5. Are teachable
It means that you can teach others to do good. The unteachable person is to being taught only by experience. The tragedy is he reaches nothing further than his own pain. If you are determined to learn, no one can stop you. Eventually we are going to makes mistakes and might as well learn from them. In teaching others, we teach ourselves. To stop learning is like to stop growing. Always remain teachable. Everyday we learn something new whether it is small or big. Our job is learn and listen.

“Be willing to be a beginner every single morning.”
    ― Meister Eckhart

    6. Have heart

It means to kind to others and treat them with respect. It means to be kind and gentle to each other. It can also mean that you do what you want to do. Listen and follow what your heart is telling you. your heart is free have the courage to follow it.In life no matter if there is messed up people in encounter in my life. I will always have a good heart and no one can change that. No beauty shines brighter than a good heart. Even if the days get colder, always have a good heart.

“One love, one heart, one destiny.”
    ― Bob Marley

Reflection: I try will commit to doing the 6 high achievers. The one i will have a hard time achieving is the number 3 willing to prepare. I have a hard time preparing my self for stuff. For example, study for a quiz or sometimes not bring my textbooks to class. The one have achieved is number 6, have heart. I like to help other people whether it big or small thing. I dont mind people asking me for help.

9 Ways to be Happy and Make Something of your Life

    Gordon B. Hinckley

    The Nine Ways to Be:

           1. Be Grateful

Being grateful is a small action and doesn't take that much effort. It makes you and other people feel good inside and shows the other person that you appreciate them. Every day we take life for granted because without it we wouldn't experience it and learn from our mistake for we can better our lives. I always been grateful for what my parents have done for me because i know they dont have a lot to give me.

“Piglet noticed that even though he had a Very Small Heart, it could hold a rather large amount of Gratitude.”
    ― A.A. MilneWinnie-the-Pooh

I will apply this to my life by creating more, buying less, getting less mad, giving more. taking less, forgiving more, worrying less, and being more thankful.

    2. Be Smart

I think being isn't only about being smart in school but in outside world. I think it important to take a step back when making decisions right away because those decisions can effect your life in a negative or positive way. We are all human and we all make mistakes which sooner or later we learned from them for we wont make mistakes. I also think it means that to get educated by getting a higher education. Getting a high education can prevent us from getting labor job and getting little pay.

"Surround yourself with smart, dedicated people - to build something isn't a one-man show. It's more important to have smart people who really believe in what you're doing than really experienced people who may not share your dream. "
         Niklas Zennstrom

    3. Be Involved in Good Works

Being involved in good works means to good things for other people without a receiving something back. Helping out others or being nice to people is being involved in good works. I think also volunteering in places is doing good work. As well as doing or being in involved in a campaign or a organization is doing good. It is good to be in these type of things because it makes feel proud and happy. I believe it makes us a better person and helps inspire other people to follow in your footsteps. To accomplish great things, we must dream as well as act. It also about what you put out there in the world will effect it positively or negatively.

“The smallest act of kindness is worth more than the greatest intention.”
― Kahlil GibranThe Essential Kahlil Gibran

    4. Be Clean

Being clean doesn't always means someone with a good hygiene. It also means to have your body healthy and clean. For example, not drinking or doing drugs is having your body detoxify. Something else is to have a clean record . For example, not getting in trouble with the laws or at school. Another way to be clean is cleaning up the environment. You can volunteer to clean the beach  or when you see a piece of trash on the floor you can pick it up. Lastly, cleaning your mind because it help clear out all the negativity or the stress that you are going through.

“I will not let anyone walk through my mind with their dirty feet.”
    ― Mahatma Gandhi

    5. Be True

Being true means being honest with yourself or with other people. It also means being yourself no matter what. Sometimes being true to yourself means changing your mind and self changes. Just be true to yourself, if you're passionate about something go for it. Don't sacrifice anything, just have fun. The truer you are to yourself , the greater your gifts will manifest themselves. Life is a belt of adjustments, stay true to your self and not go the wrong path of scandals. Look into the situation before jumping into it. I believe that not all of us are the same and we are not made to be replica of each other and that why we have to be different and do what ever your heart wants. Today you are you, that is truer than true. There no one out there alive who is youer that you.

The only real failure in life is not to be true to the best one knows."

    6. Be Positive

Being Positive means to be always optimistic even on your bad days. Being positive is good thing for your mentally because it makes you worried less and stress less. I think life is too short to be negative all the time and it makes your life more difficult than it already is. Being positive can effect the mood of the you and the people around you. It encourages them to be positive and it makes you feel good. The more you feed your mind with positive thoughts, the more you can attract greater things in life. Surround yourself with positive people and good thing will come back to you. If you don't have positively in your life, there no hope and you cant improve your goals in life.  When things go bad, don't go with them, Instead think of a way to outlook those problems in a positive way.

“Dwell on the beauty of life. Watch the stars, and see yourself running with them.”
    ― Marcus AureliusMeditations

    7. Be Humble

Be humble is having or showing modest. It means that you care about other people and you're not selfish. Humble people realize that nobody cares how much they know until those people know how much they’re cared for. Humble people are also not arrogant or prideful. I believe that the humblest tasks get beautify if loving hands do them. Humility is the key to success. Humility people share the credit and wealth, remaining focus and hungry to continue the journey of success. The higher we are placed, the more humbly we should walk.

If you're smart, you'll always be humble. You can learn all you want, but there'll always be somebody who's never read a book who'll know twice what you know.
    -David Duchovny

    8. Be Still

Being still means to be in a state of mind. Being in state of mind where all outside forces are removed. You are in relaxed and peaceful mood when you're being still. Its like being a meditative state. Clearing your mind of things that you been manifested in your life. For example, your friends, family, job, school, money, and material possessions. It can also means to be patience with life. Good or bad things can happen to you sooner or later. Being still doesn't means not to move. It means to move in peace. Time passes so quickly in life. Make time to enjoy yourself and be still.

“Go outside. Don’t tell anyone and don’t bring your phone. Start walking and keep walking until you no longer know the road like the palm of your hand, because we walk the same roads day in and day out, to the bus and back home and we cease to see. We walk in our sleep and teach our muscles to work without thinking and I dare you to walk where you have not yet walked and I dare you to notice. Don’t try to get anything out of it, because you won’t. Don’t try to make use of it, because you can’t. And that’s the point. Just walk, see, sit down if you like. And be. Just be, whatever you are with whatever you have, and realise that that is enough to be happy.
There’s a whole world out there, right outside your window. You’d be a fool to miss it.”
    ― Charlotte Eriksson

    9. Be Prayerful

Reflection: I want to commit these 9 ways to my life because I'll feel happier and healthier. For example, I would be more graceful with the smallest things in life. I see a lot of things in the news about the war and the food shortages happening in Syria. In the video about Syria, children around 6 or 7 are picking up bread crumbs off the street and also the lack of medical care they have when they are attacked. It makes me graceful to live in a developed country and I'm graceful for the food i eat everyday. Another way I could applied to my life is being still. I would apply this way because I'm always stressing out and don't have time to relax.

The 9 Ways Concluding words by Gordon B Hinckley

"There they are, nine Be's which, if observed. will bring handsome dividends to any young man or woman.  They add sparkle to your days and peace to your nights. They will save you from heartache and pain. They will bring purpose into your life and give direction to your energies.
"They will bring you friends of your own kind. They will protect you from associations that would pull you down and deflect from your course.
This is the time to be happy. This is the time to feel joy and make friends and enjoy the best this life has to offer. What i have tried to put forth... are Simply a few suggestions, Gained from many years of living , to help you do just that. The world will tell that certain kinds of things will bring you. The world will tell that certain kinds of things will bring you happiness- Things such as popularity and possessions and satisfying your baser desires.
If today you find yourself only drifting as a leaf in a stream, get hold of yourself and determine you will do better.
At the railroad crossing, signs of warning were once common. Two cross arms were emblazoned with,"Stop, Look, Listen." They meant that a train could be roaring down the tracks and you had better be alert.
I was riding a train in the Midwest years ago. I looked out the window to my left. A road ran parallel to the tracks. A car with a boy and a girl was speeding down the road a little faster than the train. The car moved ahead until I can no longer see it. Suddenly, the locomotive whistle sounded and the train screeched to a halt as the brakes gripped the wheels. We looked out the window on to the other side. There was a mangled car. Police cars soon converged, followed by the ambulance. The boy and girl were both dead. The road they were traveling crossed the tracks. They did not stop, look, or listen, It all happened in all an instant.

The better way to Be's  is the way of these nine Be's

The years will inevitably pass and pass quickly. Today is your day of resolution. Promise yourself to make something good of your precious life.
